Her mother is Cynthia Louise Bissett vice president of the mobile operator Verizon. Her father was a businessman Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. Director of an online network firm. The family lived in an elite Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan with her Catholic family. Her parents enrolled their daughter at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, a religious and elitist institution. She loved music as a kid. As a child, she began playing the piano. At age thirteen, she composed her first single. She performed at open mic nights. She was a devoted fan of the Queen Michael Jackson, Madonna, and David Bowie. She studied music at the New York University Tisch School of Art upon completing her high school education. She did not complete her study, but left them to pursue the career of a musician.
