Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinctive blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. She has performed on Broadway and at the Democratic National Convention and in concerts and festivals across Europe. Sunshine's birth name is Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta but her origins are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to grow as a musician by playing and singing in the church. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical education began in Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You a House 12 was released only in Japan. It has been re-mixed several times, and is the mainstay in her live performance. The singer has also provided her singing to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she became the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as Choral Director of Dreamgirls which was a stage production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was brought to the attention of people across the nation through 4 performances per day during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine continued to receive recognition when she was asked to sing in the presence of the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
